Meditative Walks: Embracing Nature’s Beauty

Decided to get outside today, took a nice stroll around the neighborhood, and into the coffee shop. I debated for a split second. Was I going to sit and sip my coffee inside? Or should I head back out and continue my walk, considering the rising temperature? OMG, it’s only 8 am, and it feels like the devil’s armpit out(lol). “Back outside I go,” I thought to myself. I really enjoy my walks when I can fit them in. Of course, the kids are out for summer break, so having some “me time” is pretty slim to none. So, the earlier the better. For me, my walks are everything; it’s another form of meditation. I can get fresh air and ideas while working off the extra calories from the coffee hehe. I also enjoy my quiet, for I know what lies ahead once I reach the house!

The heat felt like it was rising by the minute. I felt armpit tears forming. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty around me. The trees seemed more colorful, and the birds’ songs seemed louder. This is life. I experienced a truly peaceful moment and began to feel a sense of gratitude. Not sure what the rest of the day entails, but I am ready. Until next time…
